What is the Process of Getting a Custom Dressform?

Custom dressforms are available for purchase on the BespokeForms website. But what actually happens once you submit an order for a dressform? In this blog, we break down all the steps that occur between initial purchase and a final product.

We have “ready-to-use” dressforms as well as more affordable custom kits and patterns. 

You’ve made the purchase… Now what?

Once you’ve made your purchase, you will receive an email from BespokeForms titled “Instructions for 3D Scan”. Within that email will be instructions on completing a scan and a link to a scanning tutorial. They both detail how you can use KIRI Engine (a free smartphone scanning app) to take a scan of yourself! 

Once the scan is complete and sent (instructions in the tutorial video), BespokeForms will receive the scan and notify you to let you know they received the scan and whether the scan is good to move forward with! However, if the experts determine the scan is not good enough to move forward with, they will ask for another scan to be completed. Having a great quality scan is an important way to ensure that your final dressform is as accurate as possible. Luckily, the scanning process is not too difficult and is typically achieved within the first go around.

Within a week of the scan being received, BespokeForms will send back pictures of the proposed dressform with the shape and seam lines. There will be multiple angles and will request approval for the proposal or ask if any changes were desired. If any changes were desired, BespokeForms would perform the revisions at this time. Revisions can include any differences that customers notice. Most times, customers are happy with the initial proposal and with their approval BespokeForms can begin the manufacturing of their product. 

The manufacturing process for a fully made dressform takes 2-4 weeks and will be shipped out accordingly. The DIY Kit will take 1-2 weeks to be shipped while the pattern will be sent digitally.
